photography: cactus blossoms

I've been in a rut lately so I decided I needed to go take a walk and take pictures. I love it when prickly cactus start blooming.

    Beautiful! Why am I incapable of taking an artistic photograph? I just do not have the eye for scale, light, composition, etc. My photos are always very straight-on, square and clinical.
